Atlanta has won one post season series since 2001, neither team is very good. Atlanta's run is over, at least most Braves fans recognize that..
Atlanta hasn't gotten it done in a few years. I do see brighter times ahead though if they will make decent moves via free agency. They should have solid players for their lineup into the future. McCann-C, Freddie Freeman-1B, Prado-2B, Heyward-RF, Hanson-P, Jurrjens-P and Mike Minor I think will be a quality P. Nothing is for certain. Brandon Hicks isn't going to be able to make the move to like Chipper though Im afraid. They have groomed him as a SS, but many thought he would get moved to 3B. He has good pop but isn't getting it done average wise. Cody Johnson is the same way. Hes a LF that murders the ball when he hits it, the problem is he can't touch lefties to save his life. Maybe his second year in the minors he will make the adjustment. I also think one of the guys they got in the Vasquez trade may become a solid closer or 8th inning guy instead of just a lefty specialist. Michael Dunn has some pop. Hits 98 occasionally generally 93-94 and a sharp slider.
Its really going to be interesting to see what direction the Braves take in replacing Cox after this season also.
Braves have a ton of question marks. If you compare the Braves and Reds today the future is much brighter in Cincinnati than Atltana; I'm not just saying that cause I'm a Reds fan either. Cincinnati has Chapman, Leake, Cueto, Volquez, Bailey, Bruce, Votto, Phillips, and Stubbs all under 30. The only one out of that bunch that isn't already in the big leagues is Chapman and he's throwing 103 at AAA.
